The agent runs in the background and starts with your computer (launchd on macOS, a systemd user service on Linux, a startup script on Windows/WSL).
Update the agent: curl -fsSL https://remote.upanet.org/install.sh | sh
Remove it: curl -fsSL https://remote.upanet.org/install.sh | sh -s -- --uninstall
upa)Open terminals on your computers from any macOS or Linux shell (including WSL), using the same account as the app. Install it:
curl -fsSL https://remote.upanet.org/install.sh | sh -s -- --client
This puts upa in ~/.local/bin — add that folder to your PATH if the installer says so. Run the same command again to update it.
Then:
upa login # your app email + password upa ls # numbered list of computers and open terminals upa connect 1 # new terminal on computer 1 (number, ID or part of the name) upa connect 1 8c03e845 # reattach to a running terminal upa close 1 8c03e845 # end a terminal upa logout
In a terminal, press Enter then ~. to detach — the shell keeps running and you can reattach later from upa or the app. Type ~~ to send a literal ~. Piped input works too: echo uptime | upa connect 1.
To remove it, delete ~/.local/bin/upa and ~/.config/remotemac/client.json.
Delete your account in the app under Account → Delete Account. See the privacy policy.
